NO TIME TO WASTE

      NO  TIME  TO  WASTE

“He comes forth like a flower and fades away;/ He flees like a shadow and does not continue.” Job 14:2

“For He remembers that they were but flesh,/ A breath that passes away and does not come again.” Psalm 78:39

“For He knows our frame;/ He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14

“As for man, his days are like grass;/ As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.” Psalm 103:15

“For what is your life?  It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” James 4:14b

         Get the idea?  God wants us to know that our days are few.  Like a shadow.  Like a breath.  Like dust.  Like the grass.  Like a vapor.  We appear for a little while and are gone.

         Why, then, does He like us so much?  Our time, so short.  Our frame, so frail.  Our place, so soon forgotten.  Our behavior, so unlikable.  And yet He sent His only Son to die for us—these arrogant will-o-the-wisps of fallen reputation.  He labors over us, granting forgiveness with patience beyond understanding.  To Him we are each worth more than all the world.

         Time, still, is short.  Such little time is granted to make the ultimate decision.  What will yours be?

“Seek ye the Lord while He may be found.”
Call upon Him while He is near.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the  unrighteous man his thoughts.
Let him return to the LORD,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.”
Isaiah 55:6, 7
